The journal named after the Czech Enlightenment scholar and historian Ignac Cornova is a periodical published by the Faculty of Arts of Charles University and the Czech Society for 18th Century Research (ČSVOS), an association of experts in various fields (i.e. mainly historians, archivists, preservationists, art, music and theatre historians, ethnologists, theologians, literary historians and philosophers and others) focusing on the period between approximately 1680 and 1820. One of the main aims of the journal is to facilitate and intensify the communication among experts in various fields who deal with the so-called long 18th century "between Baroque and Enlightenment", as well as the presentation of the findings of Czech researchers to a wider group of Czech and international professional readership, especially through an existing network of national associations and generally also researchers from Europe and other parts of the world who focus on this issue.
